Price Volume measures the number of shares traded X price in a period of time. Sometimes the Price Volume indicator is more accurate then volume indicator. Price Volume can indicate market strength, as a market with increasing Price Volume is generally seen as strong and healthy. When prices fall on increasing Price Volume, the trend is gathering strength to the downside.
