This is a simple update to the Mayer Multiple script by Unbound , which charts an indicator created by Trace Mayer and popularized by Preston Pysh.
The original post identified any price below 2.4x the 100-day MA as the BTC buy threshold. While the logic there is historically sound, it does not account for the fact that the BTC trend is parabolic in nature. With...
Following Preston Pysh's "Bitcoin Mayer Multiple" study, I made this simple script to plot the recommended buy price based on the calculated 2.4x ratio between bitcoin price and its 200-day moving average. The ratio and SMA length have default values of 2.4 and 200 and can be adjusted.
Blue Line shows the BCH dominance of a particular BTC price move.
Blue is fast, orange is slow
This version is the oscillator script of a 2-in-1 overlay + oscillator depending on which plots are enabled.
Use with "Actualized BCH+BTC Price Persistence BITFINEX" - the overlay version of this script.
Price Line overlay shows combined BCH+BTC price normalized to the price of BTC, which is the realtime combined price (BCH+BTC) averaged over the SMA of BTC - SMA of BCH.
This indicator is a 2-in-1 overlay + oscillator depending on which plots are enabled.
This version is the overlay script, this is why there are maths...
This is a pretty simple indicator, it measures the momentum of bitcoin as compared to usd, eur, eth, dash, and ltc, which you can see in all of the blue lines. If the red line is above zero then it means the overall value of btc is going up, opposite for down. The Ema_window controls how smooth the signal is. If you shorten the Ema_window parameter and open this on...
Green area = Longs
Red area = Shorts
Lighter area = Longs - Shorts
The data only started recently which is why there is not much history, also I have marked a period of missing data between the vertical lines.
Many people asking me: How to find the right time to exit BitCoin long position? First, that comes to mind is Do Not use simple Buy-and-Hold strategy, but make short-term trades. Here is the simple algorithm for D1 or 4H timeframes.
Volume Conversion Indicator
The volume conversion indicator is much like the in-built volume indicator. This particular volume indicator allows you to find out how much of something has been traded in a given timeframe.
This is done by multiplying volume by the average price at that point.
What does this mean?
Well, say, for example, you were watching DGB/BTC...
IGNORE PREVIOUS SCRIPT/POST (titled: "yuan normiz")
If you like to look add symbols that are valued in China's Yuan and want to convert them to USD accurately then this is the perfect script for you.
"I'm not sure if this script is for me. Does my setup apply here?"
If either of these resemble your chart setup then this is for you:
apply to symbols expressed/valued in Chinese Yuan to automatically divide the symbol by FX:USDCNH. For example, I like to apply OKCOIN:BTCCNY to my main BTCUSD chart to compare, but I'd like to have the value for BTCCNY converted to USD for each tick---whether USDCNY was 6.30 or 6.80.
This is a very narrow use script designed to be applied on top of of symbols...
A thin stripe means the 9 consecutive bar setup is complete (each bar closes lower than the low 4 bars ago for buy setups, the reverse for sell setups).
The medium stripe increases in length as the count to 13 starts (each time a bar closes below the low 2 bars ago the counter is incremented).
When the count reaches 13 the signal is printed (thickest...
