Overview tab

This tab provides key performance metrics for the strategy.

The Key Stats section displays your Total PnL, Max drawdown, Profitable trades and Profit factor at a glance. These metrics are essential for understanding your overall trading performance.

Total PnL:

Your cumulative profit and loss. A positive number indicates overall profitability across your trading period. The percentage shows your return relative to your starting capital.

Max Drawdown:

The largest peak-to-trough decline during your trading period. This metric reveals the worst loss you experienced. Understanding drawdown helps you size positions appropriately and manage risk effectively.

Profitable Trades:

The percentage of trades that closed with a profit. Not all strategies need high win rates—what matters is that winners outsize losers.

Profit Factor:

The ratio of gross profit to gross loss. A ratio above 1.0 means your winners exceed your losers in total dollar amount. A ratio of 1.033 indicates that for every dollar lost, you make $1.033—a solid foundation for profitability.

Reading the Performance Chart

Below the key stats, you'll see a detailed performance chart tracking your cumulative profit and loss over time. This visual representation is where strategy insights come to life.

Understanding the Chart Layers

• Blue Line (Buy and Hold) — This baseline shows what you would have earned from a simple buy-and-hold strategy in the underlying assets. Compare your green area to this blue line. If you're outperforming it, your active trading strategy is adding value.
• Green Area (Cumulative PnL) — This is your actual trading performance. Watch how it trends over your selected period. Sharp upward spikes indicate winning trades, while dips show losses. The overall direction tells the story of your strategy's success.
• Red Gaps (Losing Periods) — These highlight drawdowns and losing trades.
• Green Gaps (Winning Periods) — These show your profitable trading periods. Analyzing when these occur can help you identify the market conditions where your strategy performs best.
