ER Strangle

Buying an ER play on Apple. Opened three Apr 29 155p / 162.5c net debit 5.55. Expect calls to profit but who knows, its nuts.

IF it tanks the puts will pay well IMO so i went a bit farther OTM on the short side. Stock trades at 160 on opening. Moving up now.

Wish us better luck than Meta! LOL

Options on AAPL are affordable, I took a $7.50 spread strangle for $5.55 net debit. Added two now in five strangles.

If the stock moves ten bucks either way you win!
Risk in these: if it doesn't move far enough, theta will erode the position.

Note

Last ER in Jan popped 7%, that kind of move would be +$11 today, at $170 the strangle would be worth about $9, including the chump change you get from otm put side.

Well EOD I rolled that straddle up to 160p / 165c, shoulda closed the call atm at 3:30, ah well! Selling AH on weak sentiment in spite of the beat.

Get used to disappointment!

IF anyone took this trade consider closing the puts on a gap down and hold the calls for an hour to see if it fills back up. Could still be in play imo.

AH action is extremely bearish after AMZN tanked. Robinhood cracked as well, no surprise there, eh?

I did consider AMZN play but those options are 8-10k for a single contract! Big boys' game imo.

Trade fermée manuellement

Vega and theta ate up 80% of this strangle overnight. Another disappointment.
