Mr. Ralph Nelson Elliott (28 July 1871–15 January 1948) was a USA based accountant and an author. His study on stock market historical data led him to develop the Elliott Wave Principle. Elliott wave is a kind of technical analysis that identifies trends in the financial markets. Mr. Elliott proposed that market movement unfolded in specific patterns, which practitioners today call Elliott wave patterns.
