This is because the global currency market is a zero-sum game, and every time a non-dollar currency, such as the Yuan or Rupee, is traded, it means one less Dollar being used. If other currencies become more popular, the dominance of the US in the global market could be challenged.
After the market correction, it is anticipated that the value of gold will maintain an upward trend.
