Wave-2 & Wave-4 If wave-2 is the largest price correction of the Impulse pattern, the 4th wave will likely be 61.8% of the price covered by wave-2 (see Figure 12-29, Diagram A). The next choice would be 38.2%. If wave4 is the larger price correction in the Impulse pattern, wave-2 should be 61.8%, or less likely, 38.2% of wave-4 (refer to Figure 12-29, Diagram B).
Wave-a & Wave-b Unlike waves 2&4, waves a &b move in opposite directions. Contrary to the prevailing beliefs of many, Fibonacci relationships are more reliable between patterns traveling in the same direction, not opposite directions. As a result, there are no consistently reliable relationships between waves-a & b. The relationship between waves a &b is used mostly in deciding the Structure of the a-wave (see Retracement Rules and Pre-Constructive Rules of Logic, Chapter 3).
