The only bright spot of SSI is proprietary trading. Profit from financial assets recognized through profit/loss (FVTPL) in the second quarter of 2023 reached VND 692 billion, up 63% over the same period last year. FVTPL's financial asset loss plummeted by nearly 90% to VND32.3 billion. After deducting expenses, SSI's proprietary trading business made a profit of more than VND 644 billion, 4 times higher than the same period last year.

SSI reported a profit after tax in the second quarter of more than VND 525 billion, up 27% over the same period. Accumulated in the first half of the year, the Company achieved operating revenue of more than 3 trillion dong, down 15% and pre-tax profit of more than 1.2 trillion dong, down 9%.
