Change of Characters indicate a shift in the market trend, confirming trend reversals. Break of Structures on the other hand occur once a trend is already determined, confirming new higher highs/lower lows.
Using higher length values allow users to detect longer-term fractals, thus highlighting longer-term market structures. The image above detects fractal patterns made of 7 candles, even if the increment is only of 2 bars this significantly reduces the amount of detected market structure labels.
The result obtained by utilizing fractals and higher settings can be a more dynamic view of market structure, however, as seen in the image above this can introduce very significant delay compared to utilizing pure swing points.
🔹 Support/Resistance
The indicator also returns support/resistance levels constructed from the market structure, these levels are obtained similarly to order blocks, finding the minimum on the interval of a bullish market structure and the maximum of a bearish market structure.
Price reaching a support/resistance level can be expected to bounce from it. Once a level is broken, the support/resistance level will no longer extend, and a circle will be displayed highlighting the break.
While utilizing this script for fractal-based market structure, these levels can be useful to ensure all swing points are still considered by the user with the possibility of the indicator missing reversals due to its calculation not being based on swing points themselves.

🔹 Sweeps of Liquidity (x)
SMC traders looking to properly analyze market structure need to look for sweeps of liquidity to ensure levels that are wicked are noted as sweeps, while levels that are fully closed above / below are labeled as confirmed market structures.
In the chart below we can see a Sweep of Liquidity which typically can occur on the longer term price action and indicate a potential reversal.
Notably, since labels such as CHoCH or BOS's can occur at the same level as a Sweep of liquidity, we have allowed the indicator to display the market structure label at the current bar in the event this happens.
The Sweeps of Liquidity are also based on trailing maximum / minimum, which allows for a continuous evaluation of areas for liquidity sweeps to occur.
This can be helpful for traders looking for longer term & shorter term sweeps.

Various graphical elements are included that highlight the interactions between price and Breaker structures.
🔶 USAGE
Breaker structures occur when a market structure is confirmed (price breaking a previous swing level). The broken swing point is extended by a dotted line which can be used as potential support or resistance.
After a market structure, the price can eventually reverse and break one or multiple breaker structures at the same time, allowing for the detection of new trends in the price.
A market structure closer to the top/bottom of a trend can return Breaker structures breakouts more indicative of potential reversals.
Breakers MS breakouts can also be useful as exits for entries done using market market structures.
The script additionally highlights support/resistance events by highlighting candle borders, with a border using a green color indicating support events while a red color is indicative of a resistance event.
🔹 Breaker Structure Lifespan
The "lifespan" of Breaker structures, that is the amount of time the script will extend/evaluate them is determined by various user settings.
The Maximum Breaks setting determines the maximum amount of breaks a breaker structure can withstand before it is broken.
For example, a maximum amount of breaks of 3 for a bearish breaker structure would require the price to cross under that precise breaker structure level three times. Using higher values of this setting will also highlight more Breakers MS.
The Breaker Maximum Duration setting on the other hand determines how many bars a breaker structure can be evaluated without being broken. If a breaker structure is not broken after this amount of bars then it will stop being evaluated and will be removed.

Maximum Breaks: Amount of break required for a breaker block to be considered broken.

The targets can be used as take profit levels, where the target distance can be set separately for bullish/bearish MSS/MSB respectively.
🔹 Confirmation Levels
Alternatively, targets can be used as an additional confirmation level of a trend reversal when set at a lower percentage, filtering out fake signals that might be given from market structures. In this way, targets can be used as potential entry levels.
🔹 Potential Reversal Points
In some circumstances, targets being reached can be indicative of trend reversals. The percentage of the targets would be typically set higher to allow for trend exhaustion.
The above examples highlight this usage for bearish reversal scenarios, while the image below highlights it for bullish reversal scenarios.
🔹 Support/Resistance Levels
The targets, being horizontal levels, can also serve as potential support/resistances, with breakouts potentially confirming new trends. It is important to remain observant of the market structure. An MSS or MSB in the opposite direction provides essential information to be included in future decisions.
Using multiple timeframes can help detect longer-term trends. Depending on the user's preference, they can choose the appropriate timeframe for their needs.
Note that Target lines will only be drawn when the Target Level exceeds the close value when it is drawn.
🔹 Maximum Target Duration
The Maximum Target Duration setting removes unreached target levels when the amount of bars since the associated market structure of that target exceeds the user set limit. This effectively allows the removal of any target that might no longer be relevant to newer trends.
🔹 Type: Switch/Hold
This setting is another way to control unreached target levels.
Switch: When a new MSS/MSB is found, the previous target level associated with a market structure with the same direction (bullish/bearish) is deleted if it hasn't been reached.
Hold: Target levels are retained and continuously evaluated when a new MSS/MSB is formed.
The target level will be removed in both cases when the Maximum Target Duration condition is applied.
The above example shows the case when the Type setting is set to Switch , while in the example below, it is set to Hold .

MSS indicates a shift in the market trend, confirming trend reversals. Conversely, MSB occurs once a trend is already determined, confirming new higher highs/lower lows.
🔹 Targets
A: Highest/lowest between the extremities of the MSS/MSB line
B: Price value of the MSS/MSB line
The distance between A and B is projected on the opposite side of the MSS/MSB line, adjusted with a percentage that can be set by the user. The above example used 100% of the distance between A and B.
The Target Percentage of MSS and MSB can be set separately for bullish or bearish market structures.

Understanding market structure involves analyzing market behavior. In other words, market structure encompasses how the market forms and evolves within trends.
Market structures are typically fractal and nested, so we categorize them into internal (minor) and external (major) structures. There are various definitions of market structure, with different approaches such as Smart Money and ICT providing their own interpretations.
🟣How to Use
The first step in identifying market structure is to analyze key highs and lows. An uptrend is formed when highs and lows are successively higher than previous ones. Similarly, in a downtrend, lows and highs are successively lower than previous ones.
Market trends consist of two types of movements :
•Impulsive movements
•Corrective movements
Impulsive movements align with the main trend and possess high strength and momentum. Conversely, corrective movements go against the main trend and have lower strength and momentum. The following example illustrates these concepts.
🔵 Identifying Break of Structure (BOS)
In a specific trend, for example in a downtrend, when the price breaks below the previous low and forms a new low (LL), a Break of Structure occurs. In an uptrend, a BOS (Market Structure Break or MSB) happens when the price rises and surpasses the last high.
We need at least one BOS to confirm a trend. Breaking above or below the previous high or low must be confirmed by closing at least one candle after that level.
🔵 Identifying Change of Character (CHOCH)
Change of Character (CHOCH) is a key concept in market structure analysis. A change in structure signals a trend change. In other words, a trend ends with a CHOCH (Market Structure Shift or MSS). For instance, in a downtrend, the price declines with BOS.
BOS indicates the strength of the trend, but when the price increases and surpasses the last high, a CHOCH occurs, signaling a shift from a downtrend to an uptrend.
This does not mean entering a buy trade; instead, we should wait for a BOS in the upward direction to confirm the uptrend. Unlike BOS, confirming a CHOCH does not require a candle to close; simply breaking above or below the previous high or low with the candle's wick is sufficient. The following examples show bearish and bullish CHOCH.

Besides uptrends and downtrends, a third structure often found in the market is the range or sideways structure. In this state, the power of buyers and sellers is almost equal, and the market lacks a clear trend.
Many traders believe that the Forex market ranges 80% of the time. Therefore, it requires a lot of patience to wait for a new trend to start.

This screener then finds market structures across 5 different tickers, and shows the latest information about them.

This script shows you the market structure. You can choose to show internal market structure (with pivots of a default length of 5) and swing market structure (with pivots of a default length of 50). For these two trends it will show you:
• Break of structure (BOS)
• Change of character (CHoCH) (mandatory)
• Equal high/low (EQH/EQL)
It's inspired by "Smart Money Concepts (SMC) " by LuxAlgo that will also show you the market structure.
It will create the two market structures depending on the pivots found. Both of these market structures can be enabled/disabled. The pivots length can be configured separately. The pivots found will be the 'base' of this indicator and will show you when price breaks it. When that happens a break of structure or a change of character will be created. The latest 5 pivots found within the current trends will be kept to take action on. The internal market structure is shown with dashed lines and swing market structure is shown with solid lines.
A break of structure is removed if an earlier pivots within the same trend is broken. Like in the images below, the first pivot (in the first image) is removed when an earlier pivot's higher price within the same trend is broken (the second image):
Equal high/lows have a pink zone (by default but can be changed by the user). These zones can be configured to be extended to the right (off by default). Equal high/lows are only possible if it's not been broken by price and if a later bar has a high/low within the limit it's added to the zone (without it being more 'extreme' (high or low) then the previous price). A factor (percentage of width) of the Average True Length (of length 14) that the pivot must be within to to be considered an Equal high/low. This is configurable and sets this 'limit' and is 10 by default.
You are able to show the pivots that are used. "HH" (higher high), "HL" (higher low), "LH" (lower high), "LL" (lower low) and "H"/"L" (for pivots (high/low) when the trend has changed) are the labels used.
This script has proven itself useful for me to quickly see how the current market is. You can see the pivots (price and bar) where break of structure or change of character happens to see the current trends. I hope that you will find this useful for you.
When programming I focused on simplicity and ease of read. I did not focus on performance, I will do so if it's a problem (haven't noticed it is one yet).
You can set alerts for when a change of character happens. You can configure it to fire on when it happens (all or once per bar) but it defaults to 'once_per_bar_close' to avoid repainting. This has the drawback to alert you when the bar closes.
TLDR: this is an indicator showing you the market structure (break of structures and change of characters) using swing points/pivots. Two trends can be shown, internal (with pivots of length of 5) and swing (with pivots of the length of 50).

🔵 Zig Zag
The Zigzag indicator is a lagging tool that identifies points on a price chart where significant changes occur compared to the previous wave. By connecting these points, it helps traders detect trends.
This indicator minimizes random price fluctuations, aiming to clarify the primary price trend.
Pivots are points on a price chart where the direction changes. Also known as reversal points, pivots form when supply and demand forces overpower one another.
There are various types of technical analysis pivots, which can be divided into two categories: minor pivots and major pivots, each with distinct significance in analysis.
Major Pivot : These pivots signify substantial changes in the chart's direction and occur at the end of trends. Analysts focusing on primary analysis prioritize major pivot points. In fact, most technical analysis tools are evaluated and based on major pivots.
Minor Pivot : These pivots highlight smaller, subsidiary points and directions, appearing at the end of corrections. Analysts who focus on minor pivots represent small trends. It's important to note that minor pivots are not suitable for use in primary technical tools.
Identifying Minor and Major Pivots :
Minor pivots are formed between two major pivots and do not break the opposing major pivot. (Internal Pivot)
Major pivots are those that either successfully break the opposing pivot or move beyond the previous pivot of the same type. (External Pivot)
🟣 How to Use
🔵 Identifying Break of Structure (BOS)
In a given trend, such as a downtrend, a Break of Structure occurs when the price drops below the previous low and forms a new low (LL). In an uptrend, a BOS (MSB) happens when the price rises and exceeds the last high.
To confirm a trend, at least one BOS is required. The break above or below the previous high or low must be validated by the closing of at least one candle beyond that level.
🔵 Identifying Change of Character (CHOCH)
Change of Character (CHOCH) is an essential concept in market structure analysis, indicating a trend change. In other words, a trend concludes with a CHOCH (MSS). For example, in a downtrend, the price declines with BOS.
While BOS highlights the trend's strength, a CHOCH occurs when the price rises and surpasses the last high, signaling a transition from a downtrend to an uptrend.
This does not imply immediately entering a buy trade; instead, it is prudent to wait for a BOS in the upward direction to confirm the uptrend.
Unlike BOS, confirming a CHOCH does not require a candle to close; simply breaking above or below the previous high or low with the candle's wick is sufficient. The following examples illustrate bearish and bullish CHOCH.

Bearish MSB

🔶 USAGE
This tool has three main features: market structure highlighting, grid levels, and volume profile. Each feature is covered more in depth below:
🔹 Market Structure
The basic unit of market structure is a swing point, the period of the swing point is user-defined, so traders can identify longer-term market structures. Price breaking a prior swing point will confirm the occurrence of a market structure.
The tool will plot a line after a market structure is confirmed, by default the lines on bullish MS will be green (indicative of an uptrend), and red in case of bearish MS (indicative of a downtrend).
🔹 Grid Levels
The Grid visually divides the price range contained inside the tool execution window, into equal size rows, the number of rows is user-defined so users can divide the full price range up to 100 rows.
The main objective of this feature is to help identify the execution window and the limits of each row in the volume profile so traders can know in a simple look what BoMS belongs to each row.
There is however another use for the grid, by dividing the range into equal-sized parts, this feature provides automatic support and resistance levels as good as any other.
Grid provides a visual help to know what our execution window is and to associate MS with their rows in the profile. It can provide S/R levels too.
🔹 Volume Profile
The volume profile feature shows in a visually easy way the volume behind each MS aggregated by rows and divided into buy and sell volume to spot the differences in a simple look.
This tool allows users to spot the liquidity associated with the event of a market structure in a specific price range, allowing users to know which price areas where associated with the most trading activity during the occurrence of a market structutre.

🔹 Data Gathering
Execute on all visible range: Activate this to use all visible bars on the calculations. This disables the use of the next parameter "Execute on the last N bars". Default false.
Execute on the last N bars: Use last N bars on the calculations. To use this parameter "Execute on all visible range" must be disabled. Values from 20 to 5000, default 500.
Pivot Length: How many bars will be used to confirm a pivot. The bigger this parameter is the fewer breaks of structure will detect. Values from 1, default 2
🔹 Profile
Profile Rows: Number of rows in the volume profile. Values from 2 to 100, default 10.
Profile Width: Maximum width of the volume profile. Values from 25 to 500, default 200.
Profile Mode: How the volume will be displayed on each row. "TOTAL VOLUME" will aggregate buy & sell volume per row, "BUY&SELL VOLUME" will separate the buy volume from the sell volume on each row. Default BUY&SELL VOLUME.
🔹 Style
Buy Color: This is the color for the buy volume on the profile when the "BUY&SELL VOLUME" mode is activated. Default green.
Sell Color: This is the color for the sell volume on the profile when the "BUY&SELL VOLUME" mode is activated. Default red.
Show dotted grid levels: Show dotted inner grid levels. Default true.
Market Structures by The Noiseless TraderMarket Structure by The Noiseless Trader is an indicator that highlights simple candle-based market structure patterns: Market Structure Low (MSL) and Market Structure High (MSH) . It is designed to make these shifts visible directly on the chart.

Candle 2: Bearish
Candle 1: Bearish, closing below Candle 2’s close
Candle 0: Bullish, closing above Candle 1’s open
Candle 0 must also have a minimum body size (default = 2%)
MSH (Market Structure High)
Candle 2: Bullish
Candle 1: Bullish, closing above Candle 2’s close
Candle 0: Bearish, closing below Candle 1’s open
Candle 0 must also have a minimum body size (default = 2%)
Features
Label plotting: When a pattern forms, the script places an “MSL” or “MSH” label slightly offset from Candle 0 so that the signal is visible but does not overlap the bar.
Bar coloring: Optionally, the script colors the signal candles for faster visual recognition (green for MSL, red for MSH).
Repaint protection : A setting allows the user to confirm signals only on bar close. This ensures the label does not disappear once plotted, though it delays the signal until the candle closes.
Customizable inputs: Users can set the minimum body size threshold (in % of price) and adjust the label offset distance to their preference.
Alerts: TradingView alerts can be created for both MSL and MSH events, making it possible to receive notifications when patterns appear.
How to Use
MSL labels mark potential swing lows where bearish pressure is followed by a bullish reversal.
MSH labels mark potential swing highs where bullish pressure is followed by a bearish reversal.
These patterns are most useful for studying shifts in short-term trend structure. Traders can monitor them as potential areas of interest, but they are not standalone entry or exit signals.
This indicator should be used as part of a broader trading framework. For example, some traders may combine MSL/MSH with trend filters, higher-timeframe analysis, or support/resistance zones or even classical pattern clubbed with MSL/MSH.
