Inspired by the user scarf from Tradingview. In contrast with that other indicator, this one instead of a simple moving average (SMA) for the ADX calculations, uses a running moving average (RMA) or also known as Wilder's Average. I like having a histogram for the DI lines over just having lines alone because it makes it easier to see. In addition I made it so...
This can be used to compliment the Directional Movement Index if used as a standalone trading system. In addition to using the ADX and DI lines, a trailing stop can be used when the DI lines cross. If the plus line is above to show a buy signal, then the low of the price of when which the cross took place is used as a trailing stop. If the minus line is above to...
I have been checking the strategies on ADX indicator.
I have found that +DI crossing above ADX line under threshold 30 and exit on crossdown when ADX above 30 has better results than just following crossovers of +DI and -DI , ADX crossing above 30 .
fast ema is above slow ema (default 13 and 55 , you can change these values...
// Constructs the trailing ATR stop above or below the price, and switches
// directions when the source price breaks the ATR stop. Uses the Average
// Directional Index (ADX) to switch between ATR multipliers. The higher
// multiplier is used when the ADX is rising, and the lower ATR multiplier
// is used with the ADX is falling. This ADX criteria further widens...
today I would like to share an indicator that I had in my mind for quite some time. I call it ADX Boxes.
How does it work?
What the indicator does is very simple. Whenever the ADX falls below a certain threshold (which can be managed in the user input settings) a box will appear. The box will continue to grow as long as the ADX stays below the...
This indicator is based on the formulas in the original "ADX and DI" script of Masa Nakamuro
The indicator gives a multiplication of ADX and the DI+ and DI-values, color coded for bullish or bearish momentum.
The indicator was optimised for use with HA-candles, but works with regular candles as well and shows general market direction en divergence in a simpler...
Forex Master v4.0 is a mean-reversion algorithm currently optimized for trading the EUR/USD pair on the 5M chart interval. All indicator inputs use the period's closing price and all trades are executed at the open of the period following the period where the trade signal was generated.
There are 3 main components that make up Forex Master v4.0:
Fill indicates Strong Trend
Cross indicates End of Trend
El relleno indica una fuerte tendencia cuando el Di supera "Level Trend"
El cruce de Di+ con Di- indica el fin de la tendencia
Cuando el valor del ADX es menor a "Level Range", estamos en Rango
Alright - so this is my own version of John Carter's "10x Bars"... I have done multiple things that are different from his version so they are slightly different..
So first of all the main indicator is based off of the ADX and the DMI;
For those who aren't familiar with it, Directional Movement is what you'd pull up under "built-in's" from the indicators tab...
Combined LazyBears ZeroLag EMA and CapnOscars moving average ADX. Here's the result.
I figured it could be used as a trend trendtrading system,
ADX red + ema cross downards = short.
ADX green + ema cross up = long.
ADX black + ema cross = no trade
Or something along those line. A way filter out whipsaws.
This is just something I threw together in 5 min, so...
This strategy takes the ADX Indicator I wrote and applies it to a strategy for back testing purposes.
I've also applied a date filter so you can back test specific date ranges and a moving average filter so you can choose whether to filter your longs/shorts based on a moving average.
Mashed together Chris Moody's ADX thing with his DMI thing.
So you can see trend strength + direction
green-ish = uptrend-ish//red-ish = downtrend-ish
Colors can be adjusted though.
below 10 = gray, not much going on
10 - 20 = light green/light red, could be the beginning o something
20 - 40 = bright green / bright red, something is going on
above 40 = dark...
Version 2 added support for MTF, to see the trend direction on the lower or higher timeframe.
As an example to see the difference, the indicator is added three times, one time for the current TF, one set at the higher and one at the lower TF.
Cudo's to Chris Moody for the MTF-switching-code!!
Plots the multiple time frame version of the classic ADX-DI indicoator.
DI+ and DI-
DI Histogram difference with 2 threshold lookback values
For a similar multiple time frame indicator see the following scripts. They both use the historical + projection approach to yield non-repainting indicators.
The indicator gives a multiplication of ADX and the DI+ and DI-values, color coded for bullish or bearish momentum
the indicator was optimised for use with HA-candles, but works with regular candles as well
and shows general market direction en divergence in a simpler visual way than the normal ADX-DI lines
a threshold mask can be shown or omitted as...
As the first in a series of weighted moving averages I propose I present to you the ADX Weighted Moving Average .
The ADX Weighted Moving Average (ADXwma) calculates the average price over a certain period,
contrary to the well known Volume weighted ma, it is weighted by the ADX value,
the ADX value gives an indication of the "strength" of the market.
